Doing Away with Paper Road Tax Disc

Yesterday, The Land Transport Authority announced that it will stop issuing the paper disc from Feb 15, 2017. Motorists will no longer have to display the road tax disc on their vehicles following this implementation.

Between now and Feb 14, 2017, motorists will continue to receive their paper road tax disc when they renew their road tax. From Feb 15, 2017, motorists will only receive a road tax payment notice.

From this Thursday (Sept 1), road tax can be paid at AXS stations on top of all existing payment channels.

Using a vehicle without valid road tax is an offence and liable to a maximum fine of $2,000. Motorists can check the validity of their vehicle road tax at the One.Motoring website.

They can also log into their One.Motoring account to opt for e-mail reminders to renew the annual or six-monthly tax.
