HDB Season Parking: A Complete Guide
We’re all familiar with HDB season parking, just register for it and you’ll get long-term parking! Right? Well, it’s not quite as simple as that! There are several documents you have to prepare and even if you apply, it’s not a guarantee that you’ll get your preferred car park.
Also, did you know that there is actually more than 1 type of season parking? Besides the general session parking, there’s family season parking, season parking for commercial vehicles, and even temporary season parking for bereaved family members!
While there are different types of season parking, and different application procedures, don’t let them confuse you! We’ll simplify all that in this article.
HDB Season Parking Renewal Guide
As the most common type of HDB long-term parking, you’re likely to find yourself applying for parking under this category. However, with high demand and a limited supply of parking spots, comes a priority system! Fortunately for HDB residents, you’ll be taking the top priority so be rest assured that you won’t have to fight tooth and nail with other groups to get your spot.
What You Should Do Before You Apply
With all that out of the way, here’s a simple table to see if you’re eligible to park, where you stand in terms of priority and when you should apply! Do note that this table only applies to car parks with high occupancy.
Priority Group | Booking Date | |
---|---|---|
1st Priority | (a) First vehicle owned by one of the following: - HDB flat owners, tenants, authorised occupiers, and approved sub-tenants of whole flats - Registered tenants of HDB commercial and industrial premises - Market and hawker stallholders Employees of HDB's shops/ offices (b) First company-registered vehicle of HDB flat owners, tenants, and authorised occupiers | Starts from the 1st of the month and renewal is by electronic modes (i.e. e-Service via HDB InfoWEB, Mobile@HDB, AXS payment channels, GIRO or Recurring Payment by Credit Cards) only. Season parking sales are on a first-come, first-served basis. Motorists are highly encouraged to purchase their season parking once it is open for booking, as the season parking sales will be opened to other priority groups in the subsequent days. |
2nd Priority | Second and subsequent vehicles owned by flat owners/ tenants/ authorised occupiers/ registered shop tenants | Starts from the 18th of the month and renewal is by electronic modes (i.e. e-Service via HDB InfoWEB, Mobile@HDB, AXS payment channels, GIRO or Recurring Payment by Credit Cards) only. Season parking sales are on a first-come, first-served basis. |
3rd Priority | - Residents who do not own the vehicle - Sub-tenants of rooms of flat - Non-residents | Starts from the 21st of the month and renewal is by electronic modes (i.e. e-Service via HDB InfoWEB, Mobile@HDB, AXS payment channels, GIRO or Recurring Payment by Credit Cards) only. |
Surprisingly, for all you non-HDB residents, you’re also allowed to apply for season parking! But in highly popular car parks, your endeavour for season parking might be in vain. If you’re lucky enough and happen to live near a car park with low occupancy rates, you’ll just need to book through the online channels on the first day of every month.
You might be wondering at this point, “How would I know if the parking lot I’m applying for is popular?”
It might be a tough call to decide on which car park to apply for if you simply don’t have the time to check out how things are like on the ground. Especially if you urgently need to secure a spot. Luckily, HDB has some nifty tools to help first-time applicants who are a little lost! Check out the Season Parking Information database to survey the popularity of the car parks before you apply!
After scouting out the car parks online, it’s time to check the most important part of the process, the price!

Being filial to your family won’t be a heavy financial burden anymore, at least when it comes to parking! With prices slashed to half of the regular season parking, you’ll have to find a better excuse to not visit or help out your family.
As such, the requirements and documentation needed are slightly more demanding than the regular season parking. Do note that you need to:

- Have a valid season parking for your HDB flat/ shop with living quarters
Documents needed:
- Proof of your relationship with the family member (i.e. Parents/ Children/ Siblings/ Grandparents/ In-laws) (e.g. birth certificate)
- Proof of your family member’s residence if they are not registered as an authorized occupier of the HDB flat/ shop where you intend to purchase FSP for (e.g. photocopy of NRIC which states the place of residence of your family member)
There is no limit on the number of FSP you can purchase. This is, however, subject to the availability of parking lots at your selected car park. So make sure to check out the Season Parking Information Database!
Now let’s take a look at how much it costs! You can either refer to the table below or simply calculate it yourself by referring to Tier 1 of season parking.
